about

Two bonus tracks ‘Workman Song’ and ‘Isn’t That Better (Reprise)’, which were recorded throughout the Autopilot Life sessions but couldn't quite fit on the record.

‘Workman Song’ is a dream song. While I was in New York I met a singer-songwriter Sean McMahon, who records and performs as Workman Song. I saw him play an inspiring set at Ace Hotel New York and we ended up sharing songs and playing together. Fast forward to a couple of years later, back in New Zealand and I wake up bleary-eyed from a vivid dream and scribble down the details. My rough notes were so close to lyrics, that I did a little massaging and the song was just there.

'Isn’t that Better? (Reprise)’ is a punctuation point to its namesake that appeared on Autopilot Life. We couldn't resist putting out this little piece as a Bside if only for Chris Armour’s amazing guitar playing

about

Miles Calder Wellington, New Zealand

Singer/songwriter Miles Calder delivers cutting lyrics with an expressive voice. A few years since the last outings with former backing band The Rumours, Miles has emerged with a revived sound, fresh songs and a new band. His new self-reflective songs move from understated folk-rock to swirling psychedelia, evoking early 70s Lennon as much as contemporaries like Kevin Morby or Father John Misty. ... more
